Important Information
One of the most popular ways to park at Terminal 4.
You have no transfers to worry about with Meet and Greet parking - just walk to check in.
Your car will be parked at a secured compound with security fencing, monitored 24 hours a day.
Purple Parking's Meet and Greet service is by far the easiest way to park; just drive to the terminal and one of their insured drivers will meet you, pick up your car and drive it to a secured car park. All you have to do is walk to check-in and catch your flight! What's more, when you return, they'll have it waiting for you at the Short Stay car park when you get back.
In August 2023, London's Ultra Low Emissions Zone (ULEZ) expanded to include all terminals at Heathrow Airport. This is part of an initiative to help tackle air pollution.
If your vehicle doesn't meet ULEZ standards, you'll need to pay the daily ULEZ charge when driving through Heathrow – make sure you check before you travel.
To find out more, take a look at our dedicated ULEZ page.
It's your responsibility to make sure that your vehicle's road tax is valid, it holds a valid MOT certificate and is roadworthy. If your car isn't legal or safe to drive, Purple Parking won't be able to drive it to the car park, and you also won't be able to get a refund.
Most standard cars (not mini buses or vehicles with more than 8 seats) will be accepted at the car park as long as they fit in a standard-size parking bay (2.4m x 4.8m). You'll be charged extra if your car is too large. To see if Purple Parking can take your vehicle, call us on 0871 360 1051.
Early or late? The car park offers a grace period up to midnight at their discretion. Any longer than this and you'll be charged the car park's standard rate of £20 per day. This is subject to change.
Returning to a different terminal? No problem. The car park can return your car to the terminal you're flying into, but you'll need to book this beforehand. Get in touch to add it to your booking.
If your return flight plans change call Purple Parking as soon as you can. They need as much notice as possible to get your car ready so you aren't kept waiting. You won't get a refund for any unused parking time.
Don't forget to print your booking confirmation and take it with you as the car park will need to see this when you arrive.

Parking at Heathrow Airport
Heathrow Airport is the UK’s largest and busiest international airport, serving over 80 million passengers annually. With four active terminals (Terminals 2, 3, 4, and 5), it connects travellers to destinations all over the globe. Whether you’re jetting off on holiday, taking a short business trip, or collecting a friend or family member, parking at Heathrow Airport is simple, secure, and offers a wide range of flexible options. In this guide, we’ll walk you through all the main Heathrow parking options and explain why booking in advance is the smart way to save money and ensure a stress-free journey.
Heathrow offers several official parking options including Short Stay, Long Stay, Business Parking, Meet & Greet, Valet, and POD Parking. All car parks are secure, well-lit, Park Mark® accredited, and feature 24/7 CCTV monitoring, regular patrols, and barrier control. There are official car parks at every terminal, each designed to suit different needs and budgets.
Short Stay Parking at Heathrow
Short Stay car parks are located next to each terminal and are ideal for stays of a few hours or a day. Whether you’re picking someone up, dropping them off, or taking a short trip, Short Stay provides quick and easy access to the terminal—usually within a 2–5 minute walk.
Each Short Stay car park is multi-storey and offers accessible bays, clear signage, and high security. While it’s more expensive than longer-stay options, the convenience is unbeatable. You can turn up and pay on the day, but booking in advance often results in discounted rates.
Long Stay Parking at Heathrow
Long Stay parking is the best value option for passengers going away for a week or more. Located a short distance from each terminal, Long Stay car parks are served by free shuttle buses that run every 10–15 minutes, 24 hours a day. Journey times to the terminals range from 5 to 10 minutes.
You keep your car keys and park your own car in a secure, fully monitored facility. The car parks are well signposted from the motorway, making access simple and quick. Long Stay parking must be pre-booked online for the best price, and it's particularly popular during school holidays and summer months.
Business Parking at Heathrow
Business Parking is designed for corporate travellers who want a fast, efficient parking experience. Located closer to the terminals than Long Stay, Business Parking comes with priority lanes and faster shuttle services that run every 5 minutes. Journey time to the terminal is around 3–7 minutes, depending on the terminal.
This option is ideal for frequent flyers, commuters, and those with tight schedules. It’s also a great choice for early morning flights. Booking in advance is strongly advised to secure availability and take advantage of the best rates.
Meet and Greet Parking at Heathrow
Meet and Greet parking allows you to drive directly to your terminal, hand your keys to a professional valet, and walk straight into departures. While you travel, your vehicle is parked in a secure on-site car park and will be ready for you on your return.
This service is available at Terminals 2, 3, 4, and 5 and is perfect for families, travellers with lots of luggage, or anyone looking for a smooth, hassle-free start to their journey. Advance booking is essential, and the service is competitively priced—especially when compared to premium on-the-day parking.
Valet Parking at Heathrow
Valet Parking is Heathrow’s most premium parking service. Drive to the terminal forecourt, meet your valet, and head straight to check-in. In addition to secure off-site parking, your car can be professionally cleaned or detailed while you're away.
It’s the most time-efficient option available and is ideal for business executives or luxury travellers. This service must be booked in advance and is available at all terminals.
POD Parking at Terminal 5
Unique to Heathrow, POD Parking is an innovative and eco-friendly transport solution available at Terminal 5. You park in a designated POD Parking area and take an autonomous electric pod directly to the terminal. The journey takes just 6 minutes and is available on demand at the press of a button.
POD Parking offers convenience and a fun, futuristic experience. Spaces are limited, so early booking is essential if you want to take advantage of this unique service.
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Zones
Heathrow has dedicated drop-off zones located directly outside each terminal. A charge applies for using these areas (e.g., £5 per entry), and vehicles must not be left unattended. For longer pick-ups, it’s better to use Short Stay parking, which gives you time to wait and meet your passenger inside.
There is also a free drop-off and pick-up zone available at the Long Stay car parks, where you can wait up to 30 minutes and use the free shuttle bus to the terminal.
Blue Badge / Accessible Parking
Heathrow provides accessible parking spaces in every official car park. These are located close to shuttle stops or terminal entrances, with step-free access and wide bays. Free assistance is available from your car to the check-in area, and it's best to notify the airport at least 48 hours in advance for mobility support.
Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging
EV charging points are available in selected Short Stay and Business Parking car parks. While the number of charging bays is currently limited, Heathrow continues to expand its EV infrastructure. It’s advisable to check availability and compatibility before travelling.
Security and Peace of Mind
All Heathrow Airport car parks are Park Mark® certified and meet high standards for security and safety. Facilities are monitored 24/7 by CCTV and staff patrols, and ANPR technology ensures quick, safe access in and out. Whether you’re parking for a few hours or a few weeks, your vehicle is protected while you're away.
How to Book Parking at Heathrow
Booking Heathrow Airport parking is simple and can be done online via the official airport website or through trusted third-party providers. Select your terminal, travel dates, and parking preference, then confirm your booking in minutes.
You’ll receive an email confirmation with full instructions, a map, and your reference number. Most car parks operate with ANPR, so you can drive straight in without needing a ticket. Just make sure the number plate you enter during booking matches your vehicle’s registration.
